Why so many servicers route through InsuranceClaimCheck.com
If you’ve submitted claims for more than one servicer, you’ve probably noticed that Wells Fargo, Chase, Mr. Cooper, US Bank, PennyMac, Flagstar, Rocket Mortgage, and many others all send you to the same website: InsuranceClaimCheck.com.
That’s because most large US mortgage servicers outsource loss draft processing to Assurant, an insurance services company headquartered in Springfield, Ohio. Assurant operates the InsuranceClaimCheck.com platform (with servicer-specific URL paths like /WellsFargo, /chase, or numeric paths like /433 for PNC) and runs the physical loss draft mail facility at 1 Assurant Way, Springfield, OH 45505 and P.O. Box 6501, Springfield, OH 45501.
Practical implications for you:
- The Springfield, OH address is real.If your servicer tells you to mail your check there, that’s not a scam — it’s the Assurant processing center most of the industry uses.
- The portal is legitimate.InsuranceClaimCheck.com is the official submission channel for many major servicers, even though the domain isn’t servicer-branded.
- Speed still varies.Even though many servicers use the same back-end, their individual review queues, correspondence styles, and disbursement policies differ significantly. That’s why our Servicer Report Card grades them separately.
Some servicers also use MyCoverageInfo.com for insurance policy information (not claims) — also an Assurant-operated platform. The two sites are related but handle different tasks: MyCoverageInfo is where you upload your declarations page when you renew a policy; InsuranceClaimCheck is where you submit claim check documentation.
